Politics can get heated when opponents exchange insults, but it always stops at words. But one politician just stepped over the line.
And this top Democrat just threatened to assault Donald Trump in a shocking video.
Anyone who has ever gotten in an argument with someone over politics can tell you that tempers flare.
Usually, this just ends with people agreeing to disagree at best or hurling epithets at worst.
Who hasn’t called someone a “libtard” in the Facebook comments section, right?
But there is no room in the marketplace of ideas for threatening, encouraging, or acting to inflict physical harm on someone.
But a damning video from the Capitol on January 6th, 2021 shows House Speaker Nancy Pelosi did just that.
In the video which was taken while protesters entered the Capitol, Nancy Pelosi threatened “punch” Donald Trump if he were to come to the Capitol grounds.
“I hope he comes, I’m going to punch him out,” Pelosi tells her Chief of Staff Terri McCullough, who tries to coax Pelosi out of making the shocking comments. “I’ve been waiting for this, for trespassing on the Capitol grounds. I’m going to punch him out.”
Pelosi even admitted that she would end up in prison if she acted on the impulse.
“I’m going to go to jail, and I’m going to be happy,” the speaker added.
The footage, filmed by Pelosi’s daughter and released Thursday during the House Jan. 6 Committee hearing, even captures Pelosi saying she’ll storm the White House.
“Tell him if he comes here, we’re going to the White House,” Pelosi said.

While Pelosi has argued that the January 6th protests were an assault on our democracy, she has never answered why she didn’t mobilize troops as Donald Trump recommended – a point Trump was quick to reiterate in a Truth Social post.
“Why didn’t Crazy Nancy Pelosi call out the ‘troops’ before January 6th, which I strongly recommended that she do. It was her responsibility, but she ‘didn’t like the look.’ Crazy Nancy failed the American People!” Trump wrote on Thursday afternoon.
Trump, who was subpoenaed to testify before the House committee, is reported to love “the idea of testifying” before the committee according to an official close to the former president.
He wants nothing more than to “talk about how corrupt the election was, how corrupt the committee was, and how Nancy Pelosi did not call up the National Guard that Trump strongly recommended for her to do three days earlier on Jan. 3, 2021.”
Trump has yet to confirm if he will testify before the committee as of the writing of this article.
